History of Scarritt College (1892–1988) The Scarritt College for Christian Workers started as the Scarritt Bible and Training School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1892.

Established as an institution to train women missionaries by the United Methodist Church, the school was dedicated in 1892 as the Scarritt Bible and Training School.
The Laskey Research Library & Archives houses a collection of more than 11,000 titles on women's leadership in missions and social justice.
