Historia. Zamość fue fundada en el año 1580 por el Canciller y Hetman (jefe del ejército de la República de las Dos Naciones (formada por Polonia y Lituania) Juan Zamoyski, en la ruta comercial que unía Europa del Oeste y del Norte con el Mar negro.

Modelled on Italian theories of the 'ideal city' and built by the architect Bernando Morando, a native of Padua, Zamosc is a perfect example of a late-16th-century Renaissance town.
Zamość ( Polish: [ˈzamɔɕt͡ɕ] ⓘ; Yiddish: זאמאשטש, romanized : Zamoshtsh; Latin: Zamoscia) is a historical city in southeastern Poland. It is situated in the southern part of Lublin Voivodeship, about 90 km (56 mi) from Lublin, 247 km (153 mi) from Warsaw. In 2021, the population of Zamość was 62,021. [1]
Zamość today is, in its entirety, classified as a historical monument; it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. The city was incorporated in 1580. For a long period its academy made Zamość the scientific and cultural centre for the region.

27 de abr. de 2023 · Cuatro siglos después de su fundación (1580), Zamosc era reconocida como Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la Unesco como ejemplo de integridad y autenticidad, gracias también a haber escapado su casco histórico de la destrucción (física) de la II Guerra Mundial, un episodio que, no obstante, también sintió la ciudad y su entorno de forma dramática.
