The European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) is the in-house research department and think tank of the European Parliament, providing research and analytical support to the members of the European Parliament, its parliamentary committees and the Parliament as a whole.
The Directorate-General for Parliamentary Research Services provides Members with independent, objective and authoritative analysis of, and research on, policy issues relating to the European Union, in order to assist them in their parliamentary work.
The EU is particularly exposed to risks related to the supply of the 27 non-energy and non-agricultural 'critical raw materials' identified by the European Commission. Many of these raw materials are essential in high-tech products.
