Ian David Lithgow (born February 3, 1972) is an American actor and therapist. He is best known for his work as Leon in the NBC series 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001). He is the son of actor John Lithgow.

The son of film and TV actor John Lithgow, Ian is best known for co-starring with his more infamous father in the 1990s NBC sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. Ian played the role of Leon, a dim-witted student usually found attending the class led by papa Lithgow's character, Dick Solomon.
Ian Lithgow created the role of Tony in Boy Gets Girl by Rebecca Gilman at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, and reprised the role at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
