Kassel is the largest city in the north of the federated state of Hesse in the south-western part of Germany, about 70 kilometers northwest of the geographic center of Germany. It is located on both sides of the river Fulda.

- Salón del Mercado. A las 7 de la mañana se abren las puertas del Salón del Mercado de Kassel, situado en unas caballerizas restauradas, construidas en su día por el Landgrave Guillermo IV.
- Fridericianum. Cuando se construyó el Fridericianum a finales del siglo XVIII en la plaza Friedrichsplatz, en el centro de la ciudad, ya estaba previsto que fuera un museo.

Se encuentra en el centro de la República Federal de Alemania, a orillas del río Fulda, y posee 205.481 habitantes (2020). La ciudad es una villa moderna compuesta de barrios residenciales.
