In the summer of 2011, with a pioneering scientific vision in place and the foundations of a state-of-the-art building about to be laid, the project was named the Francis Crick Institute, acknowledging the scientific achievements of one of Britain's most notable scientists, Dr Francis Crick.
About us. The Francis Crick Institute (established 2010, formally opened 2016) is a biomedical research institute which breaks down barriers between disciplines allowing bold ideas to be pursued. Work at the Crick addresses fundamental questions about disease and human health and bridges the gap between research and application.
