Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. ( Omaha, Nebraska; 14 de julio de 1913- Rancho Mirage; 26 de diciembre de 2006), nacido como Leslie Lynch King Jr., fue el trigésimo octavo presidente de los Estados Unidos entre el 9 de agosto de 1974 hasta el 20 de enero de 1977, tras la dimisión de Richard Nixon por el escándalo Watergate .
Ford was born Leslie Lynch King Jr. on July 14, 1913, at 3202 Woolworth Avenue in Omaha, Nebraska, where his parents lived with his paternal grandparents. He was the only child of Dorothy Ayer Gardner and Leslie Lynch King Sr., a wool trader.
The young Ford graduated in 1931 from South High School, where he excelled in history and government. He finished in the top 5 percent of his class and was named the most popular senior by his classmates. As a teenager, Ford worked at a local restaurant and took up the game of football.
