  1. 7 de dic. de 2020 · Halcyon™ supports streamlined workflows that enable up to 80 treatments/day in our clinic. The o-ring design differs from traditional c-arm linacs and, as observed with tomotherapy units, this may influence shielding needs.

  2. Purpose: To characterize the shielding design and leakage radiation from a newly released ring gantry linac (Halcyon, Varian Medical Systems). Methods: To assess the radiation leakage surrounding headshield and the radiation level after the beam stopper, measurements were made with GafChromic films.

  3. 18 de abr. de 2023 · The wall/ceiling thicknesses for primary and secondary barriers of Halcyon vault were calculated using shielding optimizing parameters such as primary and leakage workloads, effective use factor, maximum head leakage, patient scatter fractions and TVLs determined in this study.

  4. 19 de mar. de 2019 · Machine performance check includes a series of test to verify beam constancy and geometrical performance of gantry, collimator, and couch, using the vendor-supplied phantom dedicated for Halcyon TM MPC. One specific geometry test is the determination of MLC positioning accuracy and reproducibility.

  6. 1 de oct. de 2022 · Conclusion The self-shielding design of Halcyon linear accelerator can effectively protect 6.0 MeV rays used for treatment, reduce the shielding thickness required for the main shielding area, reduce the shielding construction cost of the equipment room and increase the usable area of the equipment room.

  7. Keywords: Halcyon vault; patient scatter fraction; radiation shielding; tenth value layer. Using experimentally determined shielding considerations, the optimized vault shielding requirements for the Halcyon facility are calculated and a typical layout drawing is proposed.
