Sadako Kujō (九条節子, Kujō Sadako, 25 June 1884 – 17 May 1951), posthumously honoured as Empress Teimei (貞明皇后, Teimei-kōgō), was the wife of Emperor Taishō and the mother of Emperor Shōwa of Japan.

Biografía. Sadako Kujō nació el 25 de junio de 1884 en Tokio, como la cuarta hija del duque Michitaka Kujō, jefe de la rama Kujō del clan Fujiwara. Su madre era Ikuko Noma. Se casó con el entonces príncipe heredero Yoshihito (el futuro emperador Taishō) el 10 de mayo de 1900, a la edad de 15 años.
Empress Teimei (1884-1951) was the consort of the Japanese Emperor Taisho and mother of Emperor Hirohito. She donated large sums from her privy purse to the Kaishun Missionary Leprosy Hospital and also to the working people in the leprosaria to encourage them to continue their service to the leprosy patients.
