Durante l’estate del 1513, insieme ai fratellastri Cesare e Francesco, Giovanni Paolo partecipava alle cerimonie di insediamento di Massimiliano Sforza, mentre insieme alla madre tentava di recuperare gli arretrati delle rendite perdute sulle donazioni lariane del Moro.
