Hörningsholm Castle (Swedish: Hörningsholms slott) is a manor house and former castle in Sweden. It is located on a cliff by an inlet of the Baltic Sea some kilometres from Södertälje.
Hörningsholm är ett slott på norra Mörkö i Mörkö socken, söder om Södertälje i Södermanland, Södertälje kommun. Hörningsholm är strategiskt beläget högt ovanpå en klippavsats intill Borgsundet, med utsikt över Södertäljeleden .
Christina Nilsdotter Gyllenstierna of Fogelvik (Swedish: Kristina or Kerstin: 1494 – January 1559, Hörningsholm Castle) was a Swedish noblewoman. She was married to the Swedish regent Sten Sture the Younger , and led the Swedish resistance against Christian II of Denmark after the death of her spouse.
Hårleman completed the Royal Palace in Stockholm, begun by Nicodemus Tessin the younger after fire had destroyed the medieval castle, in 1697. He was particularly responsible for the interiors and employed a large number of qualified artisans for the work.
