The final track on ‘Mothership Connection Newberg Session’ (Maggot Brain ~ Good To Your Earhole) is absent on the Funk To The Max (CD & Vinyl) reissues because it was not recorded during the actual Newburgh Session in 1976 but 17 years later during a P-Funk All-Stars concert in Japan.

This concept album is often rated among the best Parliament-Funkadelic releases, and was the first to feature horn players Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley, previously of James Brown's backing band the J.B.'s.
