Sophia Charlotte von Kielmansegg, Countess of Darlington and Countess of Leinster (1675–1725) was a German-born courtier. A half-sister of George I of Great Britain, to whom she was close, she moved to England in 1714 shortly after the Hanoverian succession, where she became an influential figure of his court. [1]
4 de abr. de 2024 · Sophia Charlotte, Countess of Darlington, was buried in the vault of the Duke of Ormond at the east end of Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey on 24th April 1725. In the 19th century her name was inscribed on the stone above the vault with the many others buried there.
Name variations: Baroness von Kielmansegge; Countess Leinster; Baroness of Brentford. Born around 1673; died in 1725; daughter of Ernest Augustus, duke of Brunswick-Luneburg, and Clara Elizabeth Meisenburg; associated with George I (1660–1727), king of England (r. 1714–1727).
Biography. Charlotte Von Keilmansegg was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles. [Mary Sophia] Charlotte Kielmansegge (b. 23 Sep 1703 Hanover – d. 13 Jun 1782) , changed her name after marriage to Emanuel Scrope Howe, 2nd Viscount Howe, in 1719. She was born Sophia Charlotte Mary von Kielmansegg. [1] .
