Upton Hall School FCJ is a Roman Catholic Grammar School for girls aged 11-18. It is situated in the Diocese of Shrewsbury under the Trusteeship of the Society of the Faithful Companions of Jesus, FCJ. The school has academy status.
History. The school was founded in 1849. It was opened by the FCJ Sisters, a religious society founded in nineteenth century France by Marie Madeleine, a widow and mother who was passionate about education. At first the school was situated in Lingdale House but all that now remains is the sandstone wall in Lingdale Road.
