Frederiksborg Castle (Danish: Frederiksborg Slot) is a palatial complex in Hillerød, Denmark. It was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV of Denmark-Norway in the early 17th century, replacing an older castle acquired by Frederick II and becoming the largest Renaissance residence in Scandinavia .
Experience the castle and museum with magnificent halls, portraits, history paintings and special exhibitions. Outside you find the Baroque Garden and Castle Lake! The most direct way to reach Frederiksborg is by taking the A-line of the S-train.

Frederiksborg Castle is a former Royal Danish residence, just 1-hour (by train) from Copenhagen. The castle grounds are already impressive, but the indoor tour allows you to see many beautiful salons and rooms, with a lot of history and fascinating artifacts and furniture.
