Strängnäs is a locality and the seat of Strängnäs Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden with 15,363 inhabitants in 2020. It is located by Lake Mälaren and is the episcopal see of the Diocese of Strängnäs, one of the thirteen dioceses of the Church of Sweden.

Strängnäs is one of Sweden’s oldest towns. The town dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was a church administrative center.

The town is home to approximately 11.000 inhabitants and it is the center town of Strängnäs municipality. The municipality also includes towns such as Mariefred.
