  2. The school takes pupils aged 3–18 years and became fully co-educational in 1998. A member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, it enrolls 495 day and boarding students. Its preparatory institution, known as the Chorister School, enrolls a further 250 pupils.

The move unites two historic schools which have a shared heritage stretching back over 600 years in the City of Durham.

  4. All Choristers are educated at Wells Cathedral School. Choristers usually enter the choir in Year 4 or Year 5, but this can vary, and we welcome enquiries about entry in any year. Choristers usually leave the choir at the end of Year 9 (when they are about fourteen), or when a boy’s voice changes.
