La Lenbachhaus fue construida como una villa de estilo florentino para el pintor Franz von Lenbach entre 1887 y 1891 por Gabriel von Seidl y fue ampliada en 1927-1929 por Hans Grässel y nuevamente en 1969-1972 por Heinrich Volbehr y Rudolf Thönessen.
The Lenbachhaus (German: [ˈlɛnbaxˌhaʊs]) is a building housing the Städtische Galerie (English: Municipal Gallery) art museum in Munich's Kunstareal.
La Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus (Galería municipal en el Lenbachhaus), en la villa histórica del «príncipe de los pintores» Franz von Lenbach, es uno de los lugares más bellos de Múnich.
Lenbachhaus. The Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus and the Kunstbau are located in the former villa of the artist prince Franz von Lenbach. The museum houses the largest collection of "Blaue Reiter" art in the world, with works by Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Münter, Franz Marc, Elisabeth Epstein, Marianne von Werefkin, Paul Klee and many others.
