Market Street Park is an urban pocket park in the City of Charlottesville located at 101 East Market Street in the North Downtown Neighborhood. Covering slightly over 1.04 acres, at the perimeter of the park are xeriscape garden plantings and ornamental trees, including dogwoods and a weeping cherry.
It opened on August 17, 1907, and is one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers' markets in the United States. Overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront on Puget Sound, it serves as a place of business for many small farmers, craftspeople and merchants.
