Summary. Part of what it means to live in the end times is to realize that some things will never change. For Derrick Bell, we must acknowledge both that anti-Black racism in America is permanent, and that we all have a moral obligation to resist it.

Abstract. The struggle by black people to obtain freedom, justice, and dignity is as old as this nation. At times, great and inspiring leaders rose out of desperate situations to give confidence and feelings of empowerment to the black community. Most of these leaders urged their people to strive for racial equality.
