Educating women was an innovation in 1865, when the Collegiate Institute for Young Ladies (later St Margaret’s School for Girls) opened its doors in Waterbury. At this time, only about half the population aged 5 to 19 attended school at all.

  6. 13 de ago. de 2020 · According to The Waterbury Observer, Chase Collegiate School, formerly known as St. Margaret's-McTernan, located at 565 Chase Parkway, is shutting it's doors permanently. My grandmother went to school there when it was known as St. Margaret's School for Girls.
