Black Bear is a Quest Giver, and one of the eight permanent Quest Bears that can be accessed in the game, the others being Brown Bear, Mother Bear, Panda Bear, Science Bear, Dapper Bear, Polar Bear, and Spirit Bear. After the player has completed all of Black Bear's main questlines, the player can obtain repetitive Quests every hour, similar to Brown Bear.
He is usually the first quest bear to be accessed, along with Mother Bear, Brown Bear, and Traveling Bears (only during special events). He provides quests to players to help them progress in the game and to provide extra goals to reach for. This particular bear focuses on Pollen collecting. He is located near the Ticket Tent and the Red Cannon, but he is also near the Sunflower Field and the Hives. Black Bear was a quest giver for the Egg Hunt 2019 and Egg Hunt 2020 events and was one of the NPCs to give an Ornament Quest for Beesmas 2019. He also had a quest during Beesmas (2020, 2021 and 2022) for the Honey Wreath.
Black Bear's quests require collecting pollen for him. In return, he will give the player various rewards, including Honey, Royal Jelly, a Silver Egg, a Gold Egg, a Diamond Egg, a Star Jelly, and eventually gives a Mythic Egg. He also gives many side rewards in the later quests.
Through all of his quests, he rewards 2,339,381,200 Honey. When doing the quests for the Diamond Egg, he will give a Royal Jelly every 4 quests for a total of 5 royal jellies, and a diamond egg. When doing quests for the star jelly, he'll reward 5 Tickets and Royal Jellies for every quest completed except the quest "Solo On The Stump,” as reward Black Bear gives 10 Tickets instead of the usual 5 Tickets.

Black Bear gives a lot of information in his quest dialogues. Some of the information he gives is not found anywhere else in-game.
•Black Bear proudly calls himself a "Honey Connoisseur" in his dialogue. This is what the "Black Bear's Title?" hint (behind the Instant Converter where Tunnel Bear is) refers to, leading to the Code "Connoisseur".
•He is the third bear to have a list of endless repeating quests.
•Black Bear uses the Cartoony Animation Package.
•He is the only quest giver to have normal quests and repeatable quests.
•The repeatable quests used to be given one after another, with no cooldown.
•As of now, the repeatable quests has a cooldown of one hour.
