10 de abr. de 2022 · Despite his monumental achievements, Thalberg only worked in the film industry for a scant 15 years. And somewhat shockingly, was only 37 years old when he passed away. Yet he was probably more responsible than anyone else for setting the quality standards for what became known as a “Hollywood film.”.
Thalberg fell into a deep depression after the mysterious death of his friend and assistant Paul Bern (the two had worked extensively together on the hit Grand Hotel (1932)) and he demanded a one-year sabbatical.
