Jay J. Adams (February 3, 1961 – August 15, 2014) was an American skateboarder. As a teen, he was the youngest member of the Zephyr Competition Skateboarding Team . His spontaneous freestyle skateboarding style, inspired by ocean surfing, helped innovate and popularize modern skateboarding.

Jay Adams (Los Ángeles, California; 3 de febrero de 1961 - Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca; 15 de agosto de 2014) [1] fue un skater y surfista originario de Santa Mónica, California. Miembro principal del Zephyr Team, también conocidos como los Z-Boys.
The film contains interviews from nearly all of the Z-Boys (Chris Cahill's whereabouts are unknown) with the most noteable being bad ass Tony Alva and the youngest, Jay Adams, who's talents (along with Perlata) seemed to transcend the rest of the teams.
Jay Adams is one of the stars of the 2001 documentary "Dogtown and Z-Boys." When the documentary was launched, the Venice skater was in Hawaii, serving two-and-a-half years on drug charges. He was released in 2002. Jay was able to earn his high school diploma while in prison.
