Justin Portal Welby GCVO (born 6 January 1956) is a British Anglican bishop who, since 2013, has been the 105th archbishop of Canterbury in the Church of England. Welby was previously the vicar of Southam in Warwickshire, and later served as Dean of Liverpool and Bishop of Durham.

27 de may. de 2024 · Justin Welby became the 105th archbishop of Canterbury in 2013. He is the leader of the Anglican Communion, the worldwide body of Anglican Christian churches in communion with the see of Canterbury. During his tenure, he sought to reconcile traditionalists and liberals.
He continues to make visits around the Anglican Communion, particularly to encourage Anglicans in places of conflict who are pursuing peace and reconciliation. In 2017, Archbishop Justin was invited to join UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ High-Level Advisory Board on Mediation – the only faith leader to be on the panel.
