Lily James (born as Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson on 5th April 1989; Esher, Surrey) is ta British actress who plays Rose Aldridge in Series 3, Series 4, Series 5, and the 2015 Christmas Special of Downton Abbey. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2010.

Lily James. Actress: Cinderella. Lily James was born Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson in Esher, Surrey, to Ninette (Mantle), an actress, and Jamie Thomson, an actor and musician. Her grandmother, Helen Horton, was an American actress.
Lily James, the fiesty new addition to Downton Abbey, graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in 2010. With her wild locks and mischievous looks, it’s no wonder she was chosen for the role of seductress Lady Rose.
