Los powhatan (también deletreado powatan o powhaten) es el nombre de una tribu nativa americana, la principal de una poderosa confederación de tribus a las cuales dominaron, llamada Tsenacomoco. The Powhatan people (/ ˌ p aʊ h ə ˈ t æ n, ˈ h æ t ən /;) are Native Americans who belong to member tribes of the Powhatan Confederacy, or Tsenacommacah. They are Algonquian peoples whose historic territories were in eastern Virginia. Their Powhatan language is an Eastern Algonquian language, also known as Virginia Algonquian.
