Before 1867, the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha had its own Army. But, on 26 June 1867, because of a treaty signed in 1866 with Prussia, its Army was added, for defending and recruiting purposes, to the 6th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 95 of the 22nd Division of the XIth Army Corps.
Charles Edward (Leopold Charles Edward George Albert; [note 1] 19 July 1884 – 6 March 1954) was at various points in his life a British prince, a German duke and a Nazi politician. He was the last ruling duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, a state of the German Empire, from 30 July 1900 to 14 November 1918.

29 de oct. de 2019 · The Saxe-Coburg-Gotha military became a contingent of the Prussian army on 26 June 1867. It became a member state of the German Empire in 1871. Saxe-Coburg-Gotha’s first duke was Ernest I; his younger brother was Leopold I, the King of the Belgians.
