Samara Governorate (Russian: Самарская губерния, romanized: Samarskaya guberniya) was an administrative-territorial unit of the Russian Empire and the Russian SFSR, located in the Volga Region. It existed from 1850 to 1928; its capital was in Samara.

La gobernación de Samara (en ruso: Самарская губерния) era una división administrativa del Imperio ruso y después de la R.S.F.S. de Rusia, ubicada sobre la margen izquierda del Volga y con capital en la ciudad de Samara. 1 Creada en 1851, existió hasta 1928.
In 1780, Samara was turned into an uyezd town of Simbirsk Governorate overseen by the local Governor-General, and Uyezd and Zemstvo Courts of Justice and a Board of Treasury were established. On January 1, 1851, Samara became the centre of Samara Governorate with an estimated population of 20,000.

Samarra ( Arabic: سَامَرَّاء, Sāmarrāʾ) is a city in Iraq. It stands on the east bank of the Tigris in the Saladin Governorate, 125 kilometers (78 mi) north of Baghdad. The modern city of Samarra was founded in 836 by the Abbasid caliph al-Mu'tasim as a new administrative capital and military base. [1]
