日本語 （にほんご、にっぽんご [注釈 3] ）は、 日本 国内や、 かつての日本領 だった国、そして国外移民や移住者を含む 日本人 同士の間で使用されている 言語 。 日本は 法令 によって 公用語 を規定していないが、法令その他の公用文は全て日本語で記述され、各種法令 [注釈 4] において日本語を用いることが規定され、 学校教育 においては「 国語 」の教科として学習を行うなど、事実上日本国内において唯一の公用語となっている。 使用人口について正確な統計はないが、日本国内の人口、及び日本国外に住む日本人や 日系人 、日本がかつて統治した地域の一部住民など、約1億3,000万人以上と考えられている [10] 。
ウィキペディア日本語版（ウィキペディアにほんごばん）は、ウィキメディア財団が運営する多言語 インターネット百科事典プロジェクト「ウィキペディア」の日本語版。英語名称 Japanese Wikipediaを略してjawpとも呼ばれ、財団はjawikiとも呼んでいる。

The Japanese Wikipedia (ウィキペディア日本語版, Wikipedia Nihongoban, lit. 'Wikipedia Japanese-language version') is the Japanese-language edition of Wikipedia, a free, open-source online encyclopedia. Started on 11 May 2001, the edition attained the 200,000 article mark in April 2006 and the 500,000 article mark in June 2008.
