The current monument is the second erected in Canada to honour Brock, a military commander who died during the Battle of Queenston Heights in the War of 1812.

  3. Brock's Monument commemorating Major General Sir Isaac Brock was erected in 1853 on the site of the 1812 Battle of Queenston Heights. The result of a competition, it was designed by William Thomas (1800-1860), a leading Canadian Neoclassical architect and engineer of the time, and built by J. Worthington, a contractor of Toronto.

  5. A 56-metre (185 ft) column atop Queenston Heights in Queenston, Ontario, Canada, known as Brock's Monument, commemorates the battle as well as the memory of the British General who died there. The song "MacDonell on the Heights", by Stan Rogers, commemorates the role of John MacDonell in the battle.

  6. Queenston Heights is the site of Brock's Monument and a monument to War of 1812 heroine Laura Secord. There are 235 stairs inside the monument, leading to a viewing area close to the top. The site was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1968.
