Makubetsu (幕別町, Makubetsu-chō) is a town located in Tokachi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. As of September 2016, the town has an estimated population of 27,310 and a density of 80 persons per km 2. The total area is 340.46 km 2. On February 6, 2006, the village of Chūrui (from Hiroo District) was merged into Makubetsu.
