Massy ( French pronunciation: [masi] ⓘ) is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 14.7 kilometres (9.1 mi) from the center of Paris . Population. Massy underwent rapid development within a short period of time, transforming from a large borough of 6,000 inhabitants in 1950 to a town exceeding 37,000 inhabitants in 1968.

Massy is a commune. It is in Île-de-France in the Essonne department in north France. In 2019, 50,644 people lived there. The commune is in the southern suburbs of Paris, 14.7 km (9.1 mi) from the center.
Massy is een gemeente in het Franse departement Essonne (regio Île-de-France ). De gemeente telde 50.962 inwoners op 1 januari 2021. [1] . De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Palaiseau . Geschiedenis. In de vroege middeleeuwen was dit gebied eigendom van de Abdij van Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Pas in de 12e eeuw verscheen er een dorp.
