Oliver Madox Hueffer (born Oliver Franz Hueffer; 1877 – 22 June 1931), was an English author, playwright, and war correspondent. [1] Biography. Heuffer was born in 1877 in Surrey to Catherine Madox Brown, an artist, and Francis Hueffer, a German-English music critic and librettist.

Early life. Ford was born in Wimbledon in Surrey [2] to Catherine Madox Brown and Francis Hueffer, the eldest of three; his brother was Oliver Madox Hueffer and his sister was Juliet Hueffer, the wife of David Soskice and mother of Frank Soskice. Ford's father, who became music critic for The Times, was German and his mother English.
