St George's School is a highly regarded girls' day and boarding school set in tranquil parkland in a popular residential area of Edinburgh. Established in 1888 by the pioneers of women's education, the school is one of Scotland's largest girls' school and the only all-through independent, private school in Edinburgh for girls from 3 to 18 years.
St Margaret's School, Edinburgh St Margaret's was founded in 1890 by James Buchanan and flourished as a school offering education for girls until it closed on June 10th, 2010. Many girls came to St George’s from St Margaret’s to complete their schooling, but they retained their devotion to their old school.
