Bridlington is a seaside town and fishing port in East Yorkshire. It was originally two towns: the Old Town, about a mile inland, grew up around the medieval Augustinian priory, while Bridlington Quay was the fishing settlement and harbour.
The Early History of Bridlington. Bridlington’s history can be traced back to the prehistoric times. Archaeological evidence suggests that the area was inhabited by humans as early as 10,000 BC. The earliest known settlement was a Bronze Age village located on the site of the present-day Old Town.
