Biographie. Frédéric Auguste Alexandre est le deuxième fils de Charles-Albert, comte de Beaufort et marquis de Spontin, et de Marie-Marguerite-Rose-Dorothée-Victoire, comtesse de Glymes et marquise de Florennes. Joseph II l’élève au titre de duc de Beaufort-Spontin le 2 décembre 1782 .
