The Gordon Highlanders was a line infantry regiment of the British Army that existed for 113 years, from 1881 until 1994, when it was amalgamated with The Queen's Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons) to form The Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons).

This Scottish infantry regiment was formed in 1787 and recruited in Stirlingshire. It served with the British Army in several campaigns until the 1881 reforms, when it was merged into The Gordon Highlanders.
92nd Gordon Highlanders. The Duchess of Gordon. The 92nd began life as the 100th Regiment, raised during the French Revolutionary Wars by the Duke of Gordon. He had experience of raising regiments, being responsible for 3 new regiments of Fencibles between 1759 and 1793.
