Premios Óscar
La categoría de Óscar a la mejor película animada no fue incluida hasta el 2001, debido a esto las películas anteriores a ese año no fueron nominadas o ganadoras del premio, pero eso no impidió que fueran galardonadas en otras categorías técnicas. La Bella y la Bestia (1991) fue la primera película animada en ser nominada al Óscar a la mejor película y después de esa fecha solo dos películas más lo han logrado: Up (2009) y Toy Story 3 (2010), ambas de Pixar Animation Studios.
