The Stadtkirche Darmstadt (German: Stadtkirche Darmstadt) is the main Protestant church of the city of Darmstadt and one of its parish churches, but no longer the bishopric seat of the local Evangelische Kirche in Hessen und Nassau, which is the Pauluskirche in Darmstadt

St. Ludwig ist die katholische Hauptkirche von Darmstadt. Ihre markante Kuppel erhebt sich an exponierter Stelle oberhalb des Stadtzentrums am Ende der boulevardartigen Wilhelminenstraße. Im Volksmund wird die Ludwigskirche auch als Käseglocke bzw. „Kääsglock“ bezeichnet. Zur Pfarrgemeinde gehören rund 5000 Katholiken.
Der Stadtkirchplatz liegt im Darmstädter Zentrum, direkt an dem ältesten Kirchgebäude der Stadt, der Stadtkirche. Der Platz ist Teil der Fußgängerzone und liegt ca. 200 m südöstlich des Marktplatzes. Geschichte und Beschreibung. Bis in das Jahr 1972 war es ein Schotterplatz, der als Parkplatz genutzt wurde.

The Protestant Stadtkirche Darmstadt built in 1369, is in the pedestrian zone of the downtown city center, next to the historic Hotel Bockshaut. The church has gothic elements along with renaissance and baroque , it houses the royal crypt .
