Cathal Goulding (Irish: Cathal Ó Goillín; 2 January 1923 – 26 December 1998) was Chief of Staff of the Irish Republican Army and the Official IRA.

Cathal Goulding (Dublín, Irlanda, 2 de enero de 1923 - 26 de diciembre de 1998) [1] fue Intendente General del Ejército Republicano Irlandés (IRA) desde 1962 y posteriormente jefe de Estado Mayor de una de sus escisiones, [2] el conocido como IRA Oficial, desde 1969 hasta 1972.
Goulding, Cathal (1923–98), socialist republican, was born 2 January 1923 at 1 East Arran Street, Dublin, one of four sons and three daughters of Charles Goulding, a housepainter, and Bridget Goulding (née Costello). The family had a long tradition of republican activism and working-class militancy.
