Short facts. Heidelberg. Founded in 1398, the Heiliggeistkirche is located in the heart of Heidelberg's Old Town. As early as the beginning of the 13th century, a small Romanesque basilica “Zum Heiligen Geist” stood on the site of today's Heiliggeistkirche, which probably fell victim to a fire at the beginning of the 14th century.
