The Seven Years’ War (1756–63) was one of the bloodiest conflicts of the 18th century. Winston Churchill called it “the first world war.” Fighting involved all of the great powers of Europe and took place in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. On the one hand, the conflict in Europe was dominated by the struggle between Prussia and Austria.
