William II became Landgrave of Lower Hesse in 1493, after his brother William I resigned. On 9 November 1497 William II married Yolande, daughter of Frederick II of Vaudémont . She died on 21 May 1500 after the marriage produced one child, William (27 March 1500 – 8 April 1500).

William II, Landgrave of Hesse-Wanfried-Rheinfels (also known as William the Younger; born: 25 August 1671 in Langenschwalbach; died: 1 April 1731 in Paris, and also buried there) was a son of the Landgrave Charles of Hesse-Wanfried (1649–1711) and his first wife, Countess Sophie Magdalene of Salm-Reifferscheid (d. 1675).

William II ( German: Wilhelm II; 28 July 1777 – 20 November 1847) was the penultimate Elector of Hesse. [1] Early life. William was the eldest surviving son of William I, Elector of Hesse and Wilhelmina Caroline of Denmark and Norway. With the Hessian troops, he was involved in the War of the Sixth Coalition against Napoleon in 1813.

Hermann II (c. 1342 – 10 June 1413), nicknamed the Scholar (German: der Gelehrte), was Landgrave of Hesse from 1376 to 1413. Life. Hermann II was born around 1342 to Louis the Junker and Elizabeth of Sponheim, daughter of Simon II, Count of Sponheim-Kreuznach. Louis the Junker was a son of Otto I, Landgrave of Hesse.

Louis II of Hesse ( German: Ludwig) (7 September 1438 – 8 November 1471), called Louis the Frank, was the Landgrave of Lower Hesse from 1458 - 1471. He was the son of Louis I, Landgrave of Hesse and Anna of Saxony. He married Mechthild, daughter of Ludwig I, Count of Württemberg-Urach in 1454. Their children were:
Henry II of Hesse (German: Heinrich; c. 1299 – 3 June 1376), called "the Iron", was Landgrave of Hesse from 1328–1376. Henry was the son of Otto I, Landgrave of Hesse and Adelheid of Ravensburg. With his wife Elisabeth of Thuringia, daughter of Frederick I, Margrave of Meissen, he had five children: Otto the Younger (1322c-1366)
