Der Saale-Holzland-Kreis ist ein Landkreis im Osten von Thüringen. Nach der Raumordnung gehört der Kreis zur Planungsregion Ostthüringen und ist Mitglied der Planungsgemeinschaft Ostthüringen. Namensgebend sind die den Landkreis durchfließende Saale und das Thüringer Holzland.
