Swabian (German: Schwäbisch [ˈʃvɛːbɪʃ] ⓘ) is one of the dialect groups of Upper German, sometimes one of the dialect groups of Alemannic German (in the broad sense), that belong to the High German dialect continuum.
Swabian is a West Germanic language, or a group of Alemannic German dialects, spoken mainly in southern Germany in central and southeastern Baden-Württemberg and southwest Bavaria. This region is historically known as Swabia and was once the Duchy of Swabia. In the year 2000 there were about 820,000 speakers of Swabian.
Swabian German ( Schwäbisch (help·info)) is an Alemannic German dialect. It is mainly spoken in Swabia in central and southeastern Baden-Württemberg. It's also spoken in the capital Stuttgart and the Swabian Jura region and southwest Bavaria ( Bavarian Swabia ).

8 de ago. de 2018 · Standard German ( Hochdeutsch) can sound quite harsh at times, but the further south we have headed, the more intimate and musical the language has become to our ears. The dialects weren’t too hard for us to understand, until we ended up near Swabia, the region containing the Black Forest in the southwest of Germany.
