Bárbara Muschietti was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After some roles in film production, she moved to Catalonia, Spain, were she worked in the advertising industry. She returned to cinema with the successful short film 'Mamá', written and directed by her brother Andy Muschietti, also Argentinian.
