Granville George Leveson-Gower, 2nd Earl Granville, KG PC FRS (11 May 1815 – 31 March 1891), styled Lord Leveson until 1846, was a British Liberal statesman and diplomat from the Leveson-Gower family. He is best remembered for his service as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.

Gladstone’s first and second administrations, succeeding him as leader of the Liberal Party. Educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, he was elected a Whig member of Parliament in 1836.

Granville George Leveson-Gower (2nd Earl Granville) was born in Westminster in 1815. He was the grandson of the Marquess of Stafford, which connected him to the Sutherlands, while his mother, Lady Harriet Cavendish, linked him to the Duke of Devonshire placing Granville at the heart of the aristocratic Whig cousinhood.
Granville Leveson-Gower, the third son of John, 2nd Baron and the 1st Earl Gower, became a major player in the social, economic and political life of not just the West Midlands, but the country as a whole.
