Gary Ronald McFarland (October 23, 1933 – November 2, 1971) was an American composer, arranger, vibraphonist and vocalist. He recorded for the jazz imprints Verve and Impulse! Records during the 1960s.
On November 2, 1971, 38-year-old arranger Gary McFarland died after ingesting a drink spiked with methadone.

After a summer at the Lenox School of Jazz in Lenox, Mass., McFarland dropped out in 1959 to write big band arrangements.
