26 de jun. de 2018 · In Cars, Mater sarcastically quips "Is the Popemobile a Catholic?" Then in Cars 2, the Popemobile is inside another car that I assume is called the Popemobilemobile. One of several glaring continuity issues with Cars 2 which is probably why Cars 3 is set a universe where Cars 2 never happened.
16 de abr. de 2023 · The real answer is because Owen Wilson attempted suicide in 2007 during pre-production of Cars 2. Pixar wasn’t sure about his availability moving forward but they had already started production. So Pixar delayed the release to 2011, did a total rewrite of the script, and minimized his involvement in case he couldn’t return.
25 de jun. de 2023 · I always felt like Cars got way too much praise. It was a generic story that we've seen before and trying to bring that Pixar style storytelling into a world with talking cars just didn't work for me. I really got into the Mater's Tall Tales shorts and Cars 2 felt like feature length version of them. This was what I wanted from a Cars movie.
17 de abr. de 2023 · Racing sim players prefer iRacing, Assetto Corsa, AC: Competizone, rfactor 2, Autimobilista 2, RaceRoom, etc etc. I've never seen someone in to sim racing, like with a wheel and taking it competitively, ever mention PC2 in a positive light in regards to physics.

In cars 2, mater says he never gets his dente removed because they mean so much to him, but in cars 3, the dent he got in cars 2 is gone. Also in cars 2 the universe went pretty off the rails in terms of universe consistency. Also, later that day I watched Cars 3. Again, just at the textual level (with the weird dreams and crash scenes) Cars 2 is still just a more tense watch. Even comparing it to Cars 1 (another film I watched recently), while Cars 1 has more action filled, "scary" scenes, the atmosphere of uncertainty is very similar.

3 de feb. de 2021 · Cars always had a country feel. Cars 2 just doesn’t have that feel. In the beginning of Cars it is Lightning McQueen talking about how he will win his race. Racing is his life. In the beginning of Cars 2 there is no Lighting McQueen there’s a boat. This is a movie about CARS there should not even be water in their world but apparently there is.
